Type 2 Diabetes and the Young – The T2Day programme

If you are aged between 18 and 39 years old and have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, you will soon be invited for an enhanced review to help you manage your condition.

Being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes earlier in life is associated with higher lifetime risk of health problems than when diabetes develops in older age. As well as supporting you to reduce these risks, this review will help you to:

  • Control your blood sugar levels
  • Reduce your future risk of having a heart attack or stroke
  • Manage your weight
  • Look after your psychological and emotional wellbeing
  • Plan for healthy pregnancy
  • Access other local services to help you live well with type 2 diabetes
